CARBOPLATIN

CLASSIFICATION:
Alkylating like agents, miscellaneous agent.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Covalently binds to DNA with preferential binding to the N-7 position of guanine and adenine. Reacts with two different sites on DNA to produce cross-links, either intrastrand (<90%) or interstrand (<5%). Formation of DNA adducts results in inhibition of DNA synthesis and function as well as inhibition of transcription. Binding to nuclear and cytoplasmic proteins may result in cytotoxic effects. Cell cycle-nonspecific agent.

Each ml contains:
Carboplatin Usp…..10mg

INDICATIONS:
  • Ovarian cancer.
  • Germ cell tumors.
  • Head and neck cancer.
  • Small cell and non-small cell lung cancer.
  • Bladder cancer.
  • Relapsed and refractory acute leukemia.
  • Endometrial cancer.

STORAGE:
Unopened vials of Carboplatin aqueous solution INJECTION are stable to the date indicated on the package when stored at 25° C excursions permitted from 15°-30° C (59°-86° F). Protect from light.

CYTOZOL

CYTOZOL GENERIC:
ZOLEDRONIC ACID

CLASSIFICATION:
Cytoprotective

COMPOSITION:
Each vial contains 4 mg Zoledronic, corresponding to 4.264 mg Zoledronic acid monohydrate and one ampoule of 5 ml sterile water for Injection.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Zoledronic acid is a bisphosphonate, which inhibits bone resorption via actions on osteoclasts or on osteoclast precursors. It binds to hydroxyapatite and accumulates in bone, thus inhibiting osteoclast migration and maturation. Zoledronic acid inhibits skeletal calcium release induced by tumours, and has a clinically significant impact on mixed and osteoblastic metastases in patients with breast or prostate cancer.

INDICATION:
  • Skeletal complications of malignancy
  • Hypercalcemia of malignancy
  • Osteolytic or osteoblastic bone metastases in multiple myeloma
  • Solid tumor with antineoplastic therapy.

STORAGE:
Store at 25ºC (may be exposed to 15- 30ºC). Following dilution, 2-8ºC; use within 24 hours.

STRENGTHS:
  • CYTOZOL 4MG

DETAXL

DETAXL GENERIC:
DOCETAXEL

CLASSIFICATION:
Taxane, antimicrotubule agent

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Semi synthetic taxane. Derived from the needles of the European yew tree.
High-affinity binding to microtubules enhances tubulin polymerization. Normal dynamic process of microtubule network is inhibited, leading to inhibition of mitosis and cell division.
Cell cycle-specific agent with activity in the mitotic (M) phase.

LETZOL

LETZOL GENERIC:
LETROZOLE

CLASSIFICATION:
Aromatase inhibitor

COMPOSITION:
Each Tablet Contains
Letrozole ……………2.5mg

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Letrozole is a potent and selective non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor. Letrozole inhibits the conversion of adrenally generated androstenedione to estrone or estradiol by aromatase in peripheral tissues, such as adipose tissue, as well as in tumours. It inhibits the aromatase enzyme by competitively binding to the heme of the cytochrome P450 subunit of the enzyme. It significantly lowers serum estradiol concentration in postmenopausal women and has no detectable effect on formation of adrenal corticosteroids or aldosterone. In estrogen-dependent tumours, estrogen deprivation causes growth arrest and possibly, tumor cell death.

INDICATIONS:
First line treatment of post menopausal women with hormone receptor positive or human receptor unknown locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer

STORAGE:
Oral, Tablets
  • 25ºC (may be exposed to 15-30ºC).

STRENGTHS:
  • LETZOL 2.5MG tablets

MOXIFEN

MOXIFEN GENERIC:
TAMOXIFEN

CLASSIFICATION:
Anti Hormone.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Tamoxifen and several of its metabolites (particularly 4-hydroxytamoxifen) bind to nuclear oestrogen receptors in oestrogen-sensitive tissues, and also to a microsomal protein termed the 'anti-oestrogen binding site'.
Tamoxifen interferes with the physiological sequence by which oestrogen binds to its receptor, is translocated in the nucleus and then activates messenger RNA synthesis. Although the tamoxifen-receptor complex is transported in the nucleus in the same way as oestrogen-receptor complex, it fails to activate synthesis of mRNA.

INDICATIONS:
  • Early breast cancer in women with estrogen receptor positive tumors.
  • Women with hormone responsive locally advanced/ metastatic breast cancer.

STORAGE:
  • Stored at room temperature, protected from light.
